"Body Image" is a motion graphics infographic that examines the complex relationship between self-perception and social media. From a personal perspective and data-driven research, this project investigates whether social media has truly freed us or whether digital platforms have simply transformed beauty standards into a more widespread form of pressure. The visual language draws on the nostalgic aesthetics of vintage magazines and beauty commercials to reveal how these ideals have been instilled since we are little. By contrasting the promise of diversity with data showing rising body dissatisfaction, the project argues that algorithms and constant comparison have created a cycle of dissatisfaction, challenging the viewer to see beyond the filter.
